About this conversion
Use this conversion for destinations that accept JPEG but cannot open an AVIF. JPEG output is lossy and replaces transparent regions with the selected solid background. This version does not retain metadata or guarantee identical appearance for HDR sources. Review the result on the device where it will be used.
How it works, examples & FAQs
How to convert AVIF to JPG
- Choose your AVIF files.
- Review the preview and the output options. Choose the background for transparent areas.
- Select Convert, review each result, then download the ready files.
Example
cover.avif → cover.jpg. Select Balanced for a different size/quality trade-off, then compare the result before sharing it.
Limits and common problems
The combined image input limit is 20 MiB. Browser format support varies. Format conversion does not copy metadata; compression may retain it. Still images only.
A conservative 32-million-pixel limit also applies after decoding. Compressed size alone does not determine memory use. If a file is unsupported, the tool shows an error for that file.
Frequently asked questions
Can I keep transparency in JPG?
No. Choose a background here, or use AVIF to PNG if you need transparent output.
Is AVIF decoding available on every browser?
No. Support depends on the browser and file. Unsupported inputs receive an error; they are not sent to a conversion server.
